- American Canine Institute provides many training programs, but above all we open our training classes to all breeds of dogs . A.C.I. has been in business of training canines professionally since 1959. The training method used by A.C.I. is a motivational praise & correction balance. We DO NOT use food or clickers in our training programs. American Canine Institute & Kennels breeds top quality German Shepherds. Our goal is to provide the best "all around" German Shepherd companion dog. Our well-structured working dogs are large boned, have great temperament with a gentle disposition but if called on will defend the home or you.

- A.C.I. offers group and private classes year round. We offer all levels of training for you and your dog. There are NO training waiting lists at A.C.I. since all of our classes are continuous entry. This means you and your dog can start training at your convenience. Group classes are limited to 10 teams plus the trainer. Private lessons are offered in your home, or many locations through out the Silicon Valley area. Typically private lessons are limited to a dog and handler plus a trainer. Lessons are once a week for 1 hour for 8 weeks. We also offer private lessons with multiple family members and/or dogs.

Provided by SuperpagesIf there is ever an emergency with your pet, these guys are almost always on call so they're ready and willing to take your call.
They staff from the American Canine Institute spends so much time with you and your dog and it's not just a one time thing, they check in on you to see how things are going.
Very good classes here. Overall, Gene gives you a good perspective of why and how you should handle your dog.

Provided by SuperpagesOne thing that I really like about American Canine Institute is Gene's training methods that he uses with my dog. Strongly recommend to all in Fremont.
I can't say enough good things about the trainers over at American Canine Institute. The individuals that work here truly love their job. 5 stars.
They really want you to keep your dog safe and healthy. They ask questions like, what kind of food are you feeding your dog, they teach you how to understand ingredients, they let you know about tics and fleas and what medications to use. Overall they are amazing.

Provided by SuperpagesAbsolutely amazing services. Satisfied doesn't even begin to describe how happy I was with everything. They even taught me how to read my dogs body language so I am able to avoid and prevent a bad situation.
The instructor allowed me to customize the training for my dog for my first puppy so it was different and new for me. They came to my house a few times a week during the home assessment and walked me through the services they offer, the times, commitment, cost and availability. I started off with one on one training then moved on to the group classes.
He worked with my dog for obedience training and he did a wonderful job. Great, quality service.

Provided by SuperpagesJohn is a fantastic trainer. He met with me and my dog and helped assess the issues that I wanted resolved. He suggested a few ways to approach the situation and I was able to chose what would work for me. After just one training session I saw a huge difference. Mostly because I was able to learn how to handle my dog and correct his behavior when needed. A huge difference. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend ACI, and John.

Provided by SuperpagesJohn is an excellent trainer. We sent our dog Sophie (14 mos) for 2 week on site training. She needed help with manners, listening to us, and walking on a leash without pulling. We received pictures and updates from John. He was very responsive to my emails and phone calls. She came back to us calmer, better listener, and is walking on leash without pulling. We continued our education by having John come to our house. I needed training as well! Sophie's manners are much better, she listens much better, and is no longer pulling me on walks. We are going to continue with ACI for group training. I have learned a lot from John and would highly recommend him and ACI.

When you adopt a rescue dog it is your responsibility as a pet owner to socialize and properly train your new furry friend. American Canine Institute is a great resource to do just that. They take great care of my pets and are very knowledgeable.
