So, I have a pet cat that is about two and was fine until last week, we went to give him food and seen that he had bin shot but was acting fine, so we took him to this vet and they sadly had to amputate his arm and keep him overnight. As we came to pick him up the next day and they gave us a medication called meloxidyl also known as meloxicam and they had already gave it to him which we later read should NOT be given to cats and can cause renal failure and death and he later died due to this incident we will never revisit

Took my cat in bc I realized she wasnt eating or drinking. Labs came back good, Dr Potts felt she wasnt in pain. Gave her meds to sooth her stomach and an antidepressant. Said the next step was xrays and barium to check for blockage.

Though meds were making her drowsy. Turns out she was then not eating and lethargic. Took her back to hydrate and do mentioned tests. 3 days in. Each day they said no change, gave a pill to make her hungry, going to xray and barium. 3 days in I complained theyve said it each day, im calling for results! She will have Dr Potts call me. 10 minutes later SHE called. Miracle!! Shes eating n drinking! Come get her!

Yeah. She wasnt. She was worse and in pain. Long story semi shortened-- she didnt make it and was in excruciating pain in the end. I had a call into Dr Potts for days. Not only did he not call, no one did on his behalf. Please dont risk taking your pet here. Read google reviews. The bad ones all mention giving antidepressants and Dr Potts. I wouldnt wish my worst enemy his treatment.

I have used this clinic for the last seven years and was quite pleased until about 6 months ago. Their service has declined tremendously. Most of the time a vet never looks at my pets, only the 17/18 yr old technician. That is not what I am paying for. I left my pet in their care for a week (vacation) and told them to look at his shoulder, that he had a wound. When I picked him up (a week later), my cat had a hole on his shoulder. They looked at the wrong shoulder! My cat was in their care, in pain for a whole week, a vet never even looked at him. Another incident; we dropped off our Bulldog on a Saturday morning, he was acting strange. They called us at noon and said that we could pick him up. When we got there, we asked to see the vet (after all we were paying for a visit), but he was too busy to talk to us. Again we had to listen to a teenager tell us what we already knew.
I would not recommend this facility for anything more than yearly shots. if your animal is hurt, take it to someone who cares.

I would not recommend this vet. I was told that my 18 yr old cat needed to be monitored for the night. But low and behold they have no one there to do any monitoring. Yes folks no one there to monitor the sick animals. At least at home I could have watched her and taken her to an emergency Vet if needed. I had a friend take my cat in and would have never given permission to have her kept overnight. When I called to get her out I was told that I was not the owner cause i was not the person who checked her in. Was told that nothing could be done till the morning. Do yourself a huge favor and go somewhere they actually care about animals cause Bartow Animal Hospital clearly does not.

I have probably seen everyone of the vets that work there at one time or another. All have been wonderful to work with and each one seemed to be very concerned about my dogs. I will not go anywhere else!!

Horrible vets and workers are extremely rude. If they are rude to humans, I can only imagine how they treat pets. Go somewhere else.

I just moved here in December of '09 from NC and I was very nervous about finding a new vet. I have a year and a half old boxer male who has had allergies all his life, so I have to visit the vet pretty often. Since I have been here I got a female boxer puppy, so that made even more trips to the vet. Everyone has been very friendly to me and the Vets are AWESOME!!! They have been really informative and have answered all my questions! I also love that they come in and spend some time with you and your pet. Honestly I feel like they came to work just to help me and my pet that day.

I found that the workers are not that friendly. My cat had to be hospitalized for two days and when I visited they would ask me why my cat was there. The workers that would bring my cat to visit me would not know anything about his treatments or if he was progressing. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

I always call for advice before taking my animals into the office. Bartow Animal Hospital is good at giving me home remedies so I don't have to bring them in. Plus when I do take them to the office they are wonderful to all my pets large (springer spaniel) and small (chihuahua).
